This weekend as you move through Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, I invite you to release any preconceived notions of how things “should” be. It’s easy to allow old family values or cultural stories to creep into our expectations and judgments around the holidays. This decreases our sense of joy and peace. How would your holiday weekend be different if you focused on accepting whatever presented itself, rather than judging it, resisting it, or trying to change it? What if you decided to celebrate and delight (to the best of your ability) in every part of your weekend? Alone this holiday? Create the best ‘party of one’ you’ve ever had. Cook yourself dinner, have a movie marathon, or karaoke loud enough to disrupt your neighbors. With difficult family members this holiday? Wrap yourself in your own love and acceptance and focus on allowing any comments that don’t jive with you to roll right past you. Activate curiosity within yourself, and remember that every single time that someone says something they are allowing you to peek into their inner world and understand them better. Stressed or tired from the holiday rush and prep? Ask for help. Allow yourself to rest. Make any changes that you need to make in order to be fully present throughout the weekend. Give yourself what you need. With loving friends and family over the weekend? Challenge yourself to open your heart to deeper intimacy and more expansive love. Tell people how you really feel about them. Take the risk, and go for the depth in your relationships that shakes you to the bone and alters your DNA. Above all, know that YOU MATTER. You are so incredibly beautiful, talented, and wise. You have never really moved backward, you have never lessened… you have only become more awakened and increasingly resilient. You are closer now to the full realization of everything you truly are. You deserve everything that you’ve been dreaming about. You are entering into a chapter of your life that has more love and fulfillment than you ever imagined. Happy Holidays,
