The Love Letter Project
The World Needs More Love Letters founder Hannah Brencher's mother always wrote her letters. So when she felt herself bottom into depression after college, she did what felt natural — she wrote love letters and left them for strangers to find. The act has become a global initiative.
Inspired by this project, I contacted Hannah and then hosted my own Love Letter initiative in Port Angeles, WA. This project not only gained local press, but was picked up by Seattle news stations who came to Port Angles to film me and do a story on the segment. As seen on King 5 News and KOMO 4 news, this project engaged the community as well as created and distributed positivity.

The Compassion Games
The Compassion Games are a world-wide event offering fun and creative ways to ignite and catalyze compassionate action in communities around the world through community service, acts of kindness, and raising monies for local causes. I organized and facilitated the Compassion Games for two years in Port Angeles, Wa and one year in Bend, Or. This included enrolling volunteers, collecting donations, promotion & marketing, and managing the logistics of services and events.

One Billion Rising
One Billion Rising is the biggest mass action to end violence against women in human history. The campaign, launched on Valentine’s Day 2012, began as a call to action based on the staggering statistic that 1 in 3 women on the planet will be beaten or raped during her lifetime.
On 14 February 2013, people across the world came together to express their outrage, strike, dance, and RISE in defiance of the injustices women suffer, demanding an end to violence against women.
I organized, sponsored and spoke at the One Billion Rising event that I created in Port Angeles, Wa.
This included working with the city to secure a public space to hold an outdoor dance, organizing logistics, marketing and promotion, and enrolling volunteers and speakers. The event was a great success and was widely covered in local media.

Curriculum Development
In 1990, Search Institute released a framework of Developmental Assets which identifies a set of skills, experiences, relationships, and behaviors that enable young people to develop into successful and contributing
adults.
In 2013, I developed a 12-hour course curriculum based on Developmental Assets, and funded by a Washington State grant. I facilitated this course once per month for 12-25 teens and their parents.
This program was extremely effective and was a mandatory workshop for all low-risk teen
offenders in Clallam County.
